SUMMER STAFF Each year, 75 of the finest young men we can hire come to Deerfoot Lodge to provide the needed leadership for the daily program. These men come from across the country, more than 90% with Deerfoot experience, and all with hearts to be and to build godly young men. The staff hiring process includes a written application, oral interview, and background checks. Summer staff participate in training for counseling skills, spiritual development, and trail skills, as well as program and emergency procedures.  Click here to apply to work on staff.

Ron Mackey.  
A Lone Eagle and longtime camper and staff, Chief Ron first served Deerfoot as Director for 14 summers.  With the development of Deerfoot Lodge Blue Ridge, he now begins his role as Executive Director, overseeing operations at both Deerfoot’s Adirondack and Blue Ridge sites. Chief Ron is an ordained minister with a Master of Divinity degree from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, Illinois. He is married to Anne who provides administrative support. Ron and Anne are parents to Emily, Abi, Sam, and Grace. 
Craig Boronow.
  Chief Craig is the new Summer Camp Director of Deerfoot Lodge Adirondack and oversees all operations there.  He is a Lone Eagle, a long time camper and staff member, and comes to Deerfoot after having served as camp director at Moose River Outpost in Maine for 9 years.  Chief Craig met Michelle while they were undergraduates at Wheaton College and the two have served together in camp ministry for the last 12 years.  They are parents to Milo and Juniper. 
Nick Dotti.
 Chief Nick has been a camper, staff member, work weekender, and Lone Eagle at Deerfoot.  He even met his wife, Martha at a Deerfoot Work Weekend.  Chief Nick is Summer Camp Director of Deerfoot Lodge Blue Ridge, which is now under construction in Glenville, North Carolina.  Prior to joining the Deerfoot team full time, Chief Nick served for 20 years in the US Army Special Forces, leading teams of Green Berets on deployments around the world.  Nick and Martha are parents to Maggie, Jon, and Cate.
Ken & Stephanie Hoffman.
 Ken is in his 22nd year serving as the ADK Facility Manager, overseeing the ADK camp facility throughout the year. Stephanie serves as our Office Manager and Registrar. Stephanie runs camper registration and the bookkeeping duties from the Deerfoot Adirondack office in her home during the off season. Both Ken and Stephanie are active members of the Wells Volunteer Fire Co. The Hoffmans are parents to Shelby and James.
Shawn & Erica Barnett
Shawn returns for his 16th summer as Director of Food service. A Lone Eagle and longtime camper and staff member, Shawn is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York. Erica helps to oversee the management of food allergies at camp. Shawn and Erica reside in Illinois and are the parents of Austin, Ethan, and Elise.
Sally & Mitch Baum
Sally is our Health Center Director. A licensed RN in Pennsylvania and New York, Sally returns this year for her 12th season. While not at camp, Sally works at the Messiah College campus health center. Sally and Mitch are parents to Nathan, Jonah, and Candice.
