Since 1930, Deerfoot Lodge has been led by men and women with a passion for the mission to build godly men. After a decade of turning away boys because of capacity limits, we’re in a new era of growth as we open our second camp in North Carolina.
Deerfoot Lodge Adirondacks (NY) and Deerfoot Lodge Blue Ridge (NC) operate as Deerfoot Lodge Camps, LLC., a wholly owned subsidiary of Christian Camps Inc. which is a 501c3 not-for profit corporation formed in 1930.
A Lone Eagle and longtime camper and staff, Chief Ron serves as Executive Director, overseeing the ministry at both Deerfoot Adirondacks and Blue Ridge sites. Chief Ron is an ordained minister with a Master of Divinity degree from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. He is married to Anne, who provides administrative support. Ron and Anne are parents to Emily, Abi & Liam, Sam, and Grace.
Chief Craig serves as Summer Camp Director of Deerfoot Lodge Adirondacks in Speculator, NY. He is a Lone Eagle, a longtime camper and staff and he recently completed a master’s degree at Cairn University Theological Seminary. Chief Craig met Michelle while they were undergraduates at Wheaton College and the two have served together in camp ministry for the last 12 years. They are parents to Milo and Juniper.
Chief Nick serves as Summer Camp Director of Deerfoot Lodge Blue Ridge, NC. He is a Lone Eagle, and longtime camper/staff. He even met his wife, Martha at a Deerfoot Work Weekend. Prior to joining the Deerfoot team, Chief Nick served for 20 years in the US Army Special Forces. Martha serves as the Registrar and Office Manager for Deerfoot Lodge Blue Ridge. Nick and Martha are parents to Maggie, John, and Cate.
These two families serve to lead the Health Center at Deerfoot Lodge Adirondacks. Ruth is an RN, PhD, and a professor of Nursing at Columbia School of Nursing. She and husband Tim are parents to Caleb, Micah and Simon. Will Waller is an RN and paramedic and Anna Waller is a Medical Doctor. They are parents to Liam, John, and Margaret.
Ken serves as the Facilities Manager at Deerfoot Lodge Adirondacks. Stephanie serves as our Office Manager and Registrar. Both Ken and Stephanie are active members of the Wells Volunteer Fire Co. The Hoffmans are parents to Shelby & Kyle, and James & Carrie.
Vicki is our Blue Ridge Camp Health Center Manager. She is an emergency room nurse and a Certified Pediatric Nurse. She’s volunteered at the ADK camp for 4 years in the Health Center. Her sons, Drew and Luke, son-in-law, and grandson are all Deerfooters.
Chef Shawn is Director of Food service at Deerfoot Lodge Adirondacks. A Lone Eagle and longtime camper and staff member, Shawn is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York. Erica helps to oversee the management of food allergies at camp. Shawn and Erica reside in Illinois and are the parents of Austin, Ethan, and Elise.
Chef Pete serves as Director of Food Service at Deerfoot Lodge Blue Ridge. He is a 3rd generation Deerfooter. Pete was a camper, guide leader and spent several summers working on staff at Deerfoot ADK. He lives in Anderson, SC, where he owns the Corner Bagel Shop and serves as an elder at Concord Community Church. Pete and Suzi have 5 children: Whitney, Johnny (also camper and staffer), Molly, Lauren and Stephanie.
Martin serves as the Deerfoot Business Manager and lives in Arlington, Virginia with his wife Delyse. Martin retired from the FDIC in 2023 where he worked in various capacities for 33 years. He holds a B.S. in Business Administration and a M.S. in Information Systems Technology. Martin was introduced to Deerfoot by his and Delyse’s three sons who were Deerfooters all summers growing up
Brian and Julie serve at Deerfoot Lodge Adirondacks as Waterfront Director and Camp Store Manager, respectively. Brian and Julie have a long Deerfoot History, with Brian’s father Jack serving as director of Deerfoot in the late 1960s. Brian is a Lone Eagle, and teaches Phys Ed. in Williamstown, MA. They are parents to Brandi, Lainey, and Nate.
Aaron serves as Facilities Manager for Deerfoot Lodge Blue Ridge. Aaron grew up going to Deerfoot. With a background in carpentry, he has served on maintenance at both Deerfoot locations for several years. Aaron is married to Elizabeth. They are parents to David.
Dan serves as the Mission Engagement Director, directing Deerfoot’s desire to expand the camp’s Christ-centered mission to alumni in all phases of life. Dan is a long-time camper, a guide (‘92), and a counselor for multiple summers. Dan holds a MS in Organizational Leadership and joins Deerfoot with 25 years of serving in a variety of church and para-church organizations. Dan and Brandi are parents to Sam (Blue Ridge staff), Brennah, and Hailey.
