“As You Go…” If you grew up going to Deerfoot, you’ve heard those words at the end of each session to prepare you to re-enter a life outside of the spiritually focused and Christ-centered community you just experienced at Deerfoot. “…Remember the Words to Joshua, be strong and of good courage, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you may go.” (Joshua 1:9) This is a reminder that all of us need, no matter if we are leaving Deerfoot as a 13 year old or if we haven’t been back to Deerfoot in many, many years. God is with you, and God desires you to live in the goodness of His care as His godly man.
With the development of a new initiative at Deerfoot, we will now be creating tangible ways for all those who once were Deerfooters, or are attached to Deerfoot in some way, to live a life as God’s man surrendered to His good and loving call on you. It’s called the Mission Engagement Initiative, and we invite you to join us as we respond to God’s gracious invitation. This webpage will be devoted to pathways so that all those attached to Deerfoot can continue to stay connected to the God-given mission and vision of life that so impacted us as campers.
As our Mission Engagement Initiative expands, we need to update the information of our Alumni! This ensures that you receive the latest edition of Tracks and the latest Deerfoot Calendar. Thank you for taking the time to update your info!
Email Chief Dan if you are interested in, or have questions about, how you can connect with the Mission Engagement Initiative of Deerfoot Lodge!

The Art Loeb Trail is a scenic, challenging backcountry hiking trail in western North Carolina, widely regarded as one of the most beautiful trails in the Southern Appalachians. Participants will hike the full 30 miles of the Art Loeb trail point to point over four days. This hike is a challenging one, but an accomplishment that Deerfoot brothers can share together!

Gathered Round is an opportunity to set foot back on the property of Deerfoot Lodge – not as a worker, but as someone who can benefit from a weekend with feet on the ground and hearts connected with one another.
The weekend will give opportunities for Deerfooters to sleep in a DL cabin, eat in the DL dining hall, hike some of the surrounding trails, and canoe in the lake or shoot a few arrows at a target!
This year, all that will take place on the beautiful terrain of Deerfoot Lodge Blue Ridge! This is a gathering for all, both ADK & Blue Ridge Deerfooters!

Resources to Grow in Godliness
Read More in 2026!
Every year, we make resolutions. To eat less, exercise more, save more money, etc….the idea behind all of them is personal improvement. We all acknowledge that we can, and should, be doing better in key areas of our lives. The new year presents a fresh start mentality – allowing us to set goals and work to achieving them. If you were to look at the most popular resolutions, year in and year out, reading more is always in that top list. There is something about the discipline of sitting down with a book, absorbing the information presented, and completing the book with a fresh perspective on different areas of our lives.
The Deerfoot Executive team has those same goals – and has put together a list of recommended books for you to engage in 2026 to reach your reading goals! Take a look and engage!
Prayer Request
In God’s kindness, He invites us to bring our prayer requests before Him with the utmost assurance that He hears us and loves us (Hebrews 4:16)! God also gives us brothers and sisters who devote to pray for us in our time of need; both in our local bodies of believers and also in Christian communities that we are connected to. Deerfoot desires to be one of those praying communities in your life! We have a group of alumni who are committed to praying for every prayer request that we receive, so please know that your prayer request is kept confidential among those that are praying and that it will most certainly be prayed for!
Keep in Touch
Please update your information with Deerfoot so that we can communicate with you about BOSS alumni events & opportunities to serve!
Fall 2026 Alumni Gatherings
If you are a former camper, staff member, counselor OR a work weekender, or a Deerfoot Dad – you are considered an Alum of DL! We invite you to join with other alumni in your area for these gatherings! At these gatherings, we share a bit about Deerfoot’s history and also will reveal the opportunities to remain connected with one another and with the mission of Deerfoot Lodge through the Mission Engagement Initiative!
